Co-Owner, Co-Director of Strength & Conditioning & Co-Head of FemPower Athletics

Asmahan is the co-owner and co-founder of DNA Sports Performance, as well as a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach through NASM, and a Certified Functional Strength Coach through MBSC. Asmahan is dedicated to helping clients build strength, improve performance, and develop lasting fitness habits. With a passion for movement and a results-driven mindset, she works with individuals of all levels—whether they’re competitive athletes or just beginning their fitness journey. 

Specializing in strength, agility, power, and injury prevention, Asmahan takes a science-backed approach to training, ensuring that every workout is both effective and sustainable. She designs programs that optimize performance while reducing injury risk, allowing clients to move better, feel stronger, and perform at their best.

Her holistic approach integrates smart training and nutrition strategies, empowering clients to make meaningful progress and achieve their long-term fitness goals. By focusing on sustainable lifestyle changes, she helps clients develop a positive relationship with both the gym and food, fostering lasting habits that support overall well-being and long-term success.

Derek Horowitz

Co-Owner & Co-Director of Strength & Conditioning

Derek is the co-owner and co-founder of DNA Sports Performance. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. With a background in physical therapy, personal training, and sport performance, he brings a deep understanding of movement and training to clients of all fitness levels.

Passionate about helping athletes and individuals reach their highest potential, Derek specializes in developing agility, power, strength, and movement efficiency. Whether working with competitive athletes or those looking to improve overall fitness, he takes a science-based, results-driven approach to optimize performance while minimizing the risk of injury.

His holistic, evidence-based methods empower clients to build strength, move better, and perform at their best—whether on the field, in the gym, or in everyday life. Through education and individualized programming, Derek is committed to helping people achieve sustainable fitness and long-term success.
